Google recently joined a growing number of tech companies that provide their services for free due to current world situations.
In response to the spread of COVID-19 virus, which restricts movement and impedes the day-to-day functioning of businesses and organizations, Google has also decided to help users stay connected and productive with G Suite.
Since last week, Google has provided free access to advanced Hangouts Meet video conferencing features for all existing G Suite and G Suite for Education users worldwide, including:
- larger meetings for up to 250 attendees per call
- live streaming for up to 100,000 viewers within a domain
- record meetings on Google Drive
These features are otherwise only available in the Enterprise and Enterprise Education G Suite editions, and in this case will be available to all existing users until July 1, 2020.
Google is committed to supporting businesses during this challenging period and continues to improve its infrastructure to support greater demand for Hangouts Meet resources, thereby providing a simplified and reliable access to the service during this period.
