The fourth HSM summer camp for gifted children held

Another HSM Summer Camp for gifted children has come to an end, and we’re still collecting our impressions – and we must say, it was fantastic! 🌟
Over five days in the greenery of Ribnjak Park, children had the opportunity to participate in a series of unique workshops that encouraged creativity, teamwork, a spirit of exploration, and expression through art and technology. Here’s what our week looked like:
Monday – Me in Three Dimensions
👩🎨 Facilitator: Lana Jugović
We kicked off the week creatively – the children expressed their thoughts and feelings by making plaster hand molds, painting them, creating clay sculptures, and decorating canvas tote bags however they liked, combining introspection, sculpture, and drawing into one holistic experience.
Tuesday – Outdoor Workshop
🏞 Facilitators: Sandra & Aleksandar Brborović – Association “Na putu prema gore”
Children learned how to use the Mapy.cz app for orientation and navigation, exploring the trails of Ribnjak Park. They used a compass and developed problem-solving, collaboration, and basic STEM skills. Activities like learning different knot-tying techniques made the day even more engaging.
Wednesday – Improvisation in Music, Play in Improvisation
🎻 Facilitator: Lucija Stanojević
This day was all about play! The children improvised music, movement, and storytelling, created instruments from everyday materials, and even used their bodies as instruments. They learned that in improvisation, there are no mistakes – every idea is worth sharing.
Thursday – Introduction to 3D Modeling with Tinkercad
🖥 Facilitator: Sebastijan Havrlišan – Association Dar
The children dove into the world of 3D design using Tinkercad – a tool tailored for beginners. Through hands-on tasks, they created their own 3D models (keychains, figurines…), developed digital skills and spatial awareness, and learned the basics of 3D printing technology – all through play and exploration.
Friday – Svarog’s Ring
🛡 Facilitator: Bojan Branisavljević – Association Vjetar u leđa
To wrap up the week, the kids played an adventure-based problem-solving game inspired by Slavic mythology. They took on the roles of villagers from the fictional village of Šumgorod, working to prevent a dark prophecy from coming true. With plenty of fun, they developed teamwork, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
We thank all our little geniuses for the openness, curiosity, and incredible energy they brought with them. Although we led them through the activities, we also learned a lot from them – about different perspectives, unexpected solutions, and boundless imagination.
With great excitement, we’re already looking forward to next summer and the new adventures we’ll create together.
See you in 2026! 💫
