The third Easy Biz Friday was held - 4.10.2024.

HSM held another successful Easy Biz Friday event in Peti Kupe on 04.10., where they gathered people who turned good concepts into even better products and recognizable brands, and that very path from vision to success through courage, persistence and passion and socially responsible business were the focus of this year’s event.

The first panel entitled “Business with a purpose – the path to a sustainable and socially responsible future” was dedicated to corporate social responsibility and brought together the key people of two wonderful projects. Ivan Hendija from IDE3 IT and Jelena Jelinić Cvirn from HSM spoke with Kristina Gotovac from Komunikacijski laboratorij as moderator.

They pointed out that such business is not about external projects and donations, but that it starts from within and that smaller companies have strength in this respect compared to large companies for which CSR projects are often a kind of necessity.

Jelena referred to how HSM has been supporting numerous humanitarian projects for years, but for the last few years we have focused on scholarships for high school students with disabilities and the organization of a summer camp for gifted children. The aforementioned camp is the largest such HSM project that expands every year, and this year, in addition to STEM, the emphasis was also on social skills, drawing and similar activities so that children would have the opportunity to develop a wider set of skills.

On the other hand, Ivan shared with the gathered the story behind the project, and now the association Kompići. The association was built on the foundations of a permanent computer equipment collection campaign carried out by IDE3. Through several years of operation, they collected hundreds of pieces of equipment and with the help of their experts, breathed new life into them and donated them to those most in need.

Together, they concluded that such inspiration is perhaps what other companies need to decide on such moves, and they hope to leave a good mark behind them.

“Evolution of an idea – how to successfully cross the path from vision to success?” was the name of the second panel, which gathered Ivan Bešlić from Sofascore and Nikša Tomulić from Kompare. In a conversation with Aleksandar Stanković, the panelists shared their experiences and insights into how they decided to embark on the challenging venture of creating something new, and how they dealt with the challenges they encountered along the way. Their story revealed the importance of willingness to take risks, but also the ability to adapt in uncertain situations that arose.

Through a dynamic conversation, Ivan and Nikša touched on a number of topics that are crucial for every entrepreneur on the way to success. They pointed out that one of the most important lessons was recognizing and turning challenges into opportunities. Instead of seeing them as obstacles, they saw challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. It was this mental adjustment that was crucial in building their companies and enabled them to stay focused on their goals, even in moments of greatest uncertainty.

One of the interesting points of conversation was the change in the definition of success over time. All interviewees agreed that what they considered success at the beginning of the business is not the same as what they consider today. This change in perspective comes with experience, but also with growth and the new challenges that come with it. The definition of success is not static, but evolves over time, along with the development of the company.

The panel thus provided a deep insight into the journey of an entrepreneur, from initial idea to realization, emphasizing the importance of mental resilience, adaptability and strategic decision-making.

At the very end, Jakov Urbanke from HSM shared with the hundreds gathered at the event one of the most important and biggest news in a long time – the acquisition of IDE3!

The acquisition will create new value through complementary business models, with an emphasis on a common value system, and the aim of this synergy is to ensure a stronger presence and competitiveness on the market. A joint approach to clients will enable the offer of even more advanced solutions and the delivery of even more complex projects, thus becoming even more relevant players on the IT services market.

IDE3, which stood out on the market by developing its own innovative solutions such as the FairVotes electronic voting system and by specializing in areas such as IT security, is a logical choice of partner for further growth and development.
