The third HSM children's summer camp was held

In the immediate vicinity of Maksimir Park, in the period from July 8 to 12, the now traditional third HSM summer camp for gifted children was held in cooperation with the Association for Giftedness DAR and Komunikacijski laboratorij. At the summer camp, 15 children enjoyed various interesting workshops and lectures every day, and we, too, together with them.

On the first day, Sebastijan Havrlišan from the DAR association held a workshop where the children created their own video games, and it is not surprising that it made them immensely happy.

On the second day, the children still got their hands a little dirty – Mirna Savić and Franciska Topolovec worked with them as part of the sculpting workshop, making a model that mostly consisted of things the children found in the park, and it was nice to see how happy they were with the final result – we hope that we might have awakened an artistic streak in some of them!

On the third day, the association “On the way up” took us for a walk in Maksimir Park, but not just any walk – in addition to learning and using the mobile outdoor application, there were many educational and fun activities on the ground, despite the peak of the heat wave – still in the forest is at least a little colder.

On Thursday, we were joined by Bojan Branisavljević from the association Vjetar u leđa, who through the immediate experience of the game “Odyssey in the Universe” helped the children to embark on a journey through space, time and limitless possibilities of creativity.

Finally, on Friday we were joined by Davor Stanković, who helped the children build their public speaking skills – there were fictional radio shows, listening to their recorded voices, but also a lot of laughter and newly learned things.

Together with the children, we had fun and learned a lot, and we hope they think the same 🙂 This was another wonderful experience of giving something back to the community, and it is an understatement to say that we are already looking forward to next year!
